Everyone
Checking In. Carol and I are here in our Americorps army tent hooked
up on the wireless connection. Bob and Mike just took off to do some
building projects for an elderly person and a disabled person. Carol
and I are going to run a clinic together today. They have set up a
beautiful well stocked facility in an army tent, so now we are making
forms to use that was almost totally destroyed. Untiil recently it was
isolated and somewhat forgotten. Now there are groups of volunteers
coming to help with the soup kitchens, reconstruction and medical. We
are hoping to keep a presence here with United Peace Relief volunteers.
We love the Americorps camp, with many young people rotating in from
the Americorps base in St. Louis Missouri. Linda and Yvonne are two of
our volunteers from Ukiah who came with us. They are at GOD's Kitchen
making breakfast since 5:30 am then they will work in the day care
center here and then back to God's Kitchen tonight for clean up. We
plan to get to the hardware store today to buy a huge quantity of tools
to set up for a tool lending library at the Morrell foundation. They
need tools to send out with the up to 400 volunteers they have at a
time. We just got here yesterday. So stay tuned for a report
