The following is information on how to help and how
to get help following Tuesday's storms. If your
organization has resources to add to this list for
people who need help, or if you are having a
fundraiser or benefit, send your information to

# The American Red Cross will open service centers today in Huntersville and Jackson. The Huntersville service center will be at Ararat Baptist Church on U.S. 70, just inside the community's eastern limits. The Jackson center will be at the Red Cross' Jackson chapter, at 1981 Hollywood Drive.
The centers will be open from 1 to 5 p.m. today and Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Monday. For more information, call 427-5543.
# To apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, call 1(800)621-FEMA (3362), or visit FEMA online at www.fema.gov/assistance. People with speech or hearing disabilities can call TTY (800)462-7585.
# Donations of food, hygiene items and money are needed by the American Red Cross. To donate, call (731) 427-5543. No clothing is needed at this time. You also can call the Red Cross if you need a place to stay.
# Charter Media/Communications along with 101.5 FM radio plan to produce a disaster relief telethon called West Tennessee Storm Relief Telethon to raise money for the tornado victims, according to a press release.
It will air from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday on channel 19.
It will be produced and fed live from the Charter Media Studio at 919 North Parkway in Jackson across the state to all Charter cable systems.
All money pledged will go to the American Red Cross.
# Donations also may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund and sent to The American Red Cross Jackson Area Chapter, 1981 Hollywood Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.
# The West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation is collecting donations. To donate, send checks to Disaster Relief Fund at West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation, 708 W. Forest Ave., Jackson, TN 38301.
# Union University's board of trustees has established a fund for designated gifts to be sent to Union University Disaster Relief Fund, 1050 Union University Drive, Jackson, TN 38305.
# Some companies may have policies in place to match their employees' charitable donations, so remember to check with your employer about their policy.
# University officials also have established a 24-hour emergency call center. Call (731) 668-1818 or (731) 661-5000.
# People interested in helping on campus should check the www.uu.edu and www.uuemergency.com regarding opportunities to help with cleanup.
# People who want to volunteer should call the city at 425-8361. The volunteer site will be located at Northside Lions Club. The site will be open today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be closed Sunday and will open again at 8 a.m. Monday.
# To volunteer in the county or if you need assistance, call 423-6058.
# Dement Construction Company has begun removing debris that has been brought to the street. If you have debris at the street and need it removed, call 425-2489.
# If you need help with cleanup, call Randy Brown with the Baptist Brotherhood at 422-1876.
# Any Bank of Jackson customer who has suffered damage or loss and needs help can call or come by any of the bank's branches, says Anita Kay Archer with The Bank of Jackson. The bank also is distributing Old Hickory Mall gift cards to customers who need to purchase clothing. Bank personnel also are on hand on University Parkway with a water cart, and the bank is giving toiletry packs to the residents of Jackson Oaks relocated to the Econo-Lodge. Customers in need of help can contact the bank by calling 660-8000 or go by any of the bank's three Jackson locations: 420 Oil Well Road, 558 Carriage House Drive or 132 W. University Parkway.
# First State Bank has set up an account so customers and others may make monetary donations to the American Red Cross at any branch throughout the state - including those known as Bank of Madison County in Jackson and Bank of Henderson County in Lexington. The bank also will provide lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today for volunteers and workers who are helping with the cleanup effort at Union University.
