Lynn's Update from Mulege

Update on Project Mulege Mexico
Sunday Sept. 10

We are in San Diego with our new United Peace Relief mobile disaster vehicle.  Thank you to Veterans for Peace for donating it to us!  We went shopping at Goodwill yesterday and got 50 pairs of sandals, bedding and
clothing to take down to the homeless flood victims in the area of Mulege Mexico.  We got word that the Baja Bush Pilots had completed their runs of supplies through the Cruz Roja and that now the needs have changed. The biggest need is for clothing, personal hygiene supplies, drinking water, mosquito repellent, tools, building supplies and medicine.  We made a connection with a group called the Manhatten Beach Sister City project.
They have been collecting money, and need our help getting the supplies down to Mulege and Santa Rosalia.  Our plan is to do most of the buying in Mexico after we cross the boarder today, and get them Mulege as soon as possible. Stay tuned, Deborah and I are off on an adventure. We spent hours yesterday trying to make contact with relief groups and Churches in San Diego, sadly only one church responded.  We even contacted the Sand Diego Red Cross and they said they were not responding because it was international and they had not been asked to help.  Once again it is the grass roots groups who are reaching out to bring hope to people in their time of need.  Thank you to everyone who has supported United Peace Relief together we are making a difference once again.
