OBITUARY
Megan Blythe Perry, 26, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 in a vehicle accident in New Orleans, LA. Megan was born in Wurzburg, Germany on November 24, 1979, daughter of Robin C and Rosalie A Perry, while the family was stationed overseas with the U.S. Army. Megan graduated in the top 10 of her 1998 Brunswick H.S. class. She attended Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and graduated with honors in 2002. At the time of her death, Megan was working with multiple grassroots organizations in the gulf area to aid in the hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts in that region. Megan was a resident of Portland, Maine where she was a active and vocal participant in the humanitarian organization. People's Free Space. She was passionate about social justice, sustainable energy, organic agriculture and protection of the earth's resources and environment. Megan is survived by her parents, Robin and Rosalie Perry of Brunswick, ME and Vero Beach, FL; a sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Jason Lanter of Oxford, OH; her maternal grandmother, M. Doris Small of Oakland, ME; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Family and friends are invited to share in a celebration of her life at the Brunswick United Methodist Church, 320 Church Road, Brunswick, ME at 2 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2005. The "Meg Perry Memorial Fund" has been established to support the continuation of educational programs for hurricane survivors and to sustain the humanitarian efforts to which Megan dedicated her life. OBITUARY
Dwayne Lawrence Whitehead,
36, of 3102 Avenue K, Fort Madison, WI died at 11:30 am
Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the University of Iowa
Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He was born June
10, 1969 at Hanford, CA to David L. Whitehead and Bonnie
(Krum) Whitehead. On April 16, 1996, Dwayne and Lyn
Whitehead were married at the Atlanta, GA Temple of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He worked as a
safety management coordinator and driver for Deseret
Transportation, Salt Lake City, UT. He delivered general
goods to Bishop Storehouses in the northeastern states. He
was an amateur radio operator and assisted as a Logistics
Medical Coordinator for Hurricane Katrina relief. He was a
member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his wife, Leola "Lyn" Whitehead of Fort
Madison; his parents, David and Bonnie Whitehead of
Hanford, CA; one son, Andrew Whitehead; and four daughters,
Rebecca, Dorthea, Virginia and Eliza Whitehead, all at
home; four brothers, Davis Whitehead of Southern CA, Dustin
(wife Sarah) Whitehead of Sacramento, CA, Dale Whitehead of
Hanford, CA and Donne Whitehead of Southern CA; one sister,
Darlene (husband Bryan) Whitlock of Fort Madison;
grandfather, Raymond Krum of Hanford; and several aunts,
uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by three grandparents. The family will meet friends
from 10 am to 12 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2193 Old
Denmark Road, Fort Madison, with a 1 pm funeral service at
the church. Dedication of the grace will follow the church
service at Oakland Cemetery, For Madison. President Jerry
Speir will preside. A memorial has been established and
contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
